Subjects of Contemporary Urdu Novels


Novel is very important thing to develop any language. Work on writing Urdu novels started late than Urdu poetry. But it played an important role in the development of Urdu language. The themes of current Urdu novels are now revolving around these subjects.

1. Women rights
Though world has developed a lot.  Man has access to the moon in this age. But still everywhere in the world there are male dominating societies. Especially in the developing countries like Asian subcontinent has always been a male dominating society. Women are facing lots of problems. Especially the widows are living very poor life .people don’t encourage them. And there are very less chances of remarrying of widows.
So many courageous Urdu writers are writing novels on the women’s rights and trying to pay attention of the society towards the women problems. 

2. Feudal culture
One other main social issue of the developing countries is feudalism. Due to this social issue middle classes of these countries are facing lots of problems and these are hurdles in the developing process.
Urdu Writers are trying to convey this massage to society and providing solutions to resolve this issue. 

3. Impact of religion on life
The other main topic of the Urdu novels is the religious aspects and social issues, which are arising due to drive out from the religion. Novels point out these problems and provide the solutions. By adopting religious values we can get rid of these problems. Many Urdu novels have written on the religious issues.

4. Family
Joint family system is very popular in Asian subcontinent. Due to modernization people are running away from the joint family system. Writers highlight the joint family values and importance through their novels.
There are lots of other issues about which the famous Urdu writers are writing novels and pay the attention of society towards the social, religious and cultural issues. Urdu novels are playing a good role in the society.
