Ashfaq Ahmed and his creditable work for Urdu


Ashfaq Ahmed a bright name in the history of Urdu writers. He did lots of work in his life as a play writer, intellectual, a spiritual writer, and as a broadcaster. He and his wife Bano Qusia both played a remarkable roll in the establishment and development of Urdu. He was born on 22 August 1925 in Garhmukteshwar village, Ghaziabad, British India. After independence of Pakistan he migrated to Pakistan with his family. 

He got his early education from India and then he came to Pakistan and got his masters degree from government of Lahore in Urdu literature. His wife Bano Qusia was also a credible Urdu novelist. They both were class fellow and later they got merry. When Ashfaq Ahmed came into Pakistan at the time of independence, he worked as a announcer for the migrated people and did lots of work for the refugees. Later on he worked as a broadcaster in Radio Azad Kashmir

He also did lecturer ship in Lahore College and after that he went to Rome to promote Urdu. There he worked as an Urdu newscaster and he also did work as Urdu lecturers in the University of Rome. Then he went on Europe for the higher Education. He did diplomas in French and Italian language and also in broadcasting. When he came to Pakistan he joined Pakistan Radio station and gave his services as a broadcaster for many years. He wrote many Urdu story books and earned name as a famous Afsana writer. He wrote many TV plays and books on spirituality.   

Ashfaq Ahmed got many rewards on his immense and worthy work on Urdu stories and Afsana. His famous books on sufiams and daily life are Zaviya, Aik Muhabbat Sau Afsanay, Gadaria, Talqeen Shah, Mun Chalay Ka Sauda, Hairat Kadah, Safar dar Safar, Tota Kahani, Baba Sahiba .Ashfaq Ahmed died at the age of 79 on 7 September 2004.but his dazzling work will never remove from the Urdu History.
